Justus - a conscious comic for the unconcious world.

“Justus” is a comic strip that “reveals the unconscious faults of adults through the insightful innocence of children.” Its subtle semi political undertone is heightened by a humorous and contemplative overtone. Please take the time to read once and definitely twice, because hidden layers of subtle meanings are known to reveal themselves the deeper you look into these strips.

Hey people! The name is Reginald Butler, better known as ‘rnb’. I'm originally from Fort Washington, Maryland and now reside in the New York area where I currently work as a Digital Color Background Artist on Fox's Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles at Dancing Diablo Animation Studios. Yes, they brought it back! I am a young artist who is eager to explore different avenues for his work. Having studied mostly Design, Painting and Video at The Cooper Union in New York, Illustration and Cartooning has proved to be one of the mediums where I feel that I can best express a good number my thoughts. Comic strips are a great way to access the human mind. In many cases they may knock on the door in a humorous manner, but once inside, their short and simplistic form can be the impetus for a detailed renovation of ideas. “Justus” was started in 2002 during my college years. “Just because times have changed doesn't mean that they have been fully cured.” Think about that one. I for one believe we are living in a more subtle era where it is easy to only see what the surfaces presents to us. This strip helps for me to take the fun from my other artwork and poetry and place it in a more serious and beneficial setting, from which I hope to reach the masses.
